Today Mr.Herry checked our homework which are the Finale project and the Music Developmental Workbook. There were a few people who havent submitted it but fortunately I have submitted it on time. We also did our rehersal for our upcoming music exam. We each performed our own composition in front of the class. The violin group went first so I have little time to prepare for the rehersal. I did have some difficulties doing this. I made a few mistakes. But then the teacher helped me correct it. Next, I will study for the exams.

1 December 2009
Today we revised our previous lesson which is about the Kodaly. Mr.Herry didnt teach us today, he was replaced by our flute and guitar teacher, Mr.Hary and Mr.John. We learn songs for our Kodaly sign which is Marry had a Little Lamb and London Bridge. Than we were asked to go to the front and do the Kodaly from the song. I didnt have much difficulty doing this because it was quite easy to be memorized, both the song and the Kodaly. Next, I will carry on with the lesson.

Today we learn about Kodaly which is the hand signature. We learn the hand signature of Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti, and Do. We practice together doing all those hand signature including trying it out with a song. The song we tried on was the Morning song which is quite simple to do. I enjoy learning this the most because it is fun to do. I did have difficulites memorizing the signs but I am able to do it as we keep on doing those signs, thus, automatically making me memorize it. Next, I will learn to keep doing the Kodaly and update my blog.

Today I did the theory assessment about the major scale, major 7th chord, dominant chord, and also the music history just like my previous one. I think I did very good on my history part. I did have a hard time doing this assessment because it is an assessment, so there will definately be a difficult part. The difficult part for me was the chord and notation part. I didnt really know if I put it in the right notes at the right place and also the sharp, flat and natural signature. I tried to remember though the lesson that I have learn. I solved it by just trying my best to fill it because theres nothing I can do again hence it is an assessment and I have to be ready and all. Next, I will just study harder.

Today I did my quiz. The quiz was about all the things we've studied about which are the major scale, major 7th chord, dominant chord. It also has the history part which was suprising for me because we've never really quite discussed about music's history. I did have difficulties doing this because I dont really understand about the chords and especially the history part though. Thankfully, if my quiz result for this quiz is bad, I can retake it and prefer which score is better for me. Next, I will study harder because I will retake the quiz.

Today I learn about major minot sharp key signature and discussed our mistakes from pur previous worksheet given about the major scales and intervals. Today we were also given our scores on our assessment. I got 7/10. I think my score is satisfying enough considiring I didnt do that great on my assessment.Today I did have some about the lesson but then my friend was able to teach me again how to do the major and minor scales and I was able to understand the lesson. Next, I will study about the topics discussed since next week there will be a quiz held which I hope to get a really good score at.

Today I only watched the others' performance for the music assessment since I have done my assessment last week. The performances was all great and a blast to watch. I did not have any difficulties during this lesson. Next, I will update my blog and do my homework which is to check out and learn from teoria.com.

Today I did my music assessment which is to play my own composition on my violin. I was a little nervous at that time, but I kept playing. I think I didnt do well too much on my assessment because I did make alot of mistakes while playing. I hope to still get a good score for this. Next time, I will improve more on my violin skills so that my score will be better.

Today our Finale and midi task was checked. Thankfully mine was submitted on time. Today we were given homework which is to update our blog and reherse our own composition. I did not have any difficulties during this lesson. Next, I will do my homeworks.

Today I submitted my Finale and midi files. Mr.Herry taught us about the 1st, 2nd and 3rd inversion. I didnt have any difficulties today. Next, I will reherse my composition on my violin.

Today we discussed about our term 2 assessment, we were introduced to Finale. I didnt have any difficulties during this lesson. Next, I will study.

Today we did the Western singing assessment. I sang "What a Wonderful World" with my patner, Mutia. I think we did okay but maybe we should've sang it more loud. Besides that, I think our performance was okay. I did not have much difficulties doing this because I have memorized the lyrics and practice to sing it. Next, I will improve more on my singing so I can be better.

Today we did the "Gundul Pacul" singing assesment. I sang it with a chosen patner, Bernard. We sang it okay. I did not have any problems during this lesson. Next, I will study for my Western singing assessment which is on Thursday.

Today in music class Mr.Herry checked our lyrics composition. We also sang a Western song which will be for our Western singing assessment. I didnt have any difficulties during this lesson. Next, I will study and practice my music at home.

Today we made a song composition, composing of 32 bars. I chose ABBA as my song composition pattern. I had no difficulties doing this since Mr.Herry has explained it clearly. Next, I will make the lyric for my composition.

Today we made a song composition and then it was checked. Then we sang "Gundul Pacul" together. I had no difficulties during this lesson. Next, I will revise my previous lesson.

Today was our first day back at music class. We learn how to make a AABA composition. I didn't have any difficulties doing this because it was explained well. Next, I will study at home.

Today we did our singing assessment. I sang "Indonesia Pusaka". I had some difficulties doing this like singing the high notes but I overcome it just with letting my voice let go. Next, I will update my blog because it will due today.

Today the teacher gave us the assessment result. For the popular and classic paper, I got 6.5/8 and 8/8. For the performace I got 7.5. I didnt have any difficulties during this lesson. Next, I will improve my scores by the next assessment which is singing Indonesia Pusaka.

Today we learn about C, D, G Major, 7th scales, etc. I had difficulties on understanding it but Mr.Herry explained to us so I understand it. Next, I will learn more about this and try to understand it better.

Today I posted all my reflections from my journal into this blog. Today I also practiced my violin for the assessment tomorrow. I played Twinkle Twinkle, the song which I will be playing also tomorrow. Next, I will be performing for my assessment.

Today I watched my friends' performance. i had no difficulties during todays lesson. Next week will be my turn so I need to practice at home for the song I have prepared to perform which is "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".

Today we present our presentation about Popular Music. As I observe, classical musics are more relatable to the elder more than the young ones. While we, enjoy the popular music. Our presentation was told being too short and we need pictures but overall we got a B. I had no difficulties during the lesson but did get a bit nervous presenting. Next, I will prepare for the next lesson

Today we studied making compositions. We first wrote it in our music book, and later we publish it in to the music paper. Our music class made a music composition and it turned out great. I had no difficulties on todays lesson. Next, I will continue on working on my composition.

Today we made a group for our presentation project about Classic Music VS Popular Music. Today we also learned about the G, C, F chords and made a composition. I had a hard time understanding it but then the teacher explained it more clearer and I now understand it. Next, I will work on my presentation for next week.

Today we learn to sing Hari Merdeka. We also learn about C major, minor, etc. I did not have difficulties doing this. Next, I will continue on studying the major and minors also memorize Hri Merdeka.

Today in music class, we decided a composer name to research on and I decided to choose Fritz Kreiser a reknown violinist in the modern days and also was a composer. Next, I will search on him more and submit the research on him.

Today in music class I learned about F Clef and also G Clef. We didnt get the chance to sing for the test but nect week we will. Generally, we revised yesterday's lesson. I got some difficulties during this lesson but I overcome it by asking my friends. Next, I will revise on my todays lesson.

Today in music class we sang Heal The Word together. We were also spilt into groups to sing in front if the class so then we sanged. Today, we also started out instrument class. I had no difficulties during this session. Next, I will study the lesson today and practice my violin.

Today in music class, I decided what instrument I'll be playing and some of us were assessed wheter we are capable enough to join the classes or not. Earlier, we were told the rules and regulations for music. Then we sang heal the world together. I had no difficulties during this lesson. Next, I will learn the song heal the world better.
